1. What is CISS?
CISS is the acronym for Continuous Ink Supply System. It is a system which can continuously provide ink for your cartridges. All three parts are connected securely at manufacturer to prevent leakage.

4. How to install CISS?
We have installation videos for CISS. You can also search the installation videos on www.Youtube.com . It is easy and fun!
Most important thing: Your Printer Should be in Perfect Working/Printing Condition before Installation of the CISS.

Here is the general guideline for installation of all kinds of CISS:

  • Install the cartridges into the printer and make sure all the cartridges are pushed firmly until you hear "click" sound. Otherwise, the printer will show error message like "missing or damaged cartridge(s)".
  • For printers using HP88, HP02, LC51, LC61 cartridges etc, which have separate print heads, you only need to close the cover of the printer.
  • If your cartridges are moving along with printing motion, you should leave the length of the ink tubing to let the carriage move freely; the tubing should not pull the ink cartridges along the moving and printing. The ink tubing should not be too long which can block the moving of the carriage.
  • Organize the ink tubing; make sure it is flat, not tangled. Fix the ink tubing by using the supplies enclosed in your CISS packages.
  • Piano Book CISS: Change the black caps into the white ones on your ink tank (Piano Book CISS for Hp 02 doesn't need to change the caps; Please keep the black caps on).
  • Regular Style CISS: Insert the air filters on the air vent of the ink tank. The air filter should fit in snuggly.

5. What should I do if I receive "missing or damaged ink cartridges" error message (not apply to the refillable ink cartridges and CISS for Epson 125, 126 and 127) ?

When you receive error message like “missing or damaged cartridges, “cartridges can’t be recognized”, “cartridges are not compatible”, or “install all the cartridges” after you install the refillable ink cartridges or CISS, please do as the following:

  2. Please check whether the air vent is left open after installation (except for the refillable ink cartridges and Piano Book CISS for HP 02).
  3. Check whether the cartridges are installed properly.
  4. If the problems still are not solved, please take all the ink cartridges out of your printer, and then turn off your printer.
  5. Clean the metal contact part on each ink cartridge with alcohol swab, air dry.
  6. For refillable ink cartridges (except the cartridges for HP 02): Remove all the plugs on the air vent of the refillable ink cartridges, and leave the air vent open.
  7. For Regular style CISS: take off the plugs on the smaller holes of the ink tank, insert the smaller side of the filters into the holes.

After the initialization finishes, the printer's power button should be in a stable green light which indicates the cartridges are accepted by the printer. If a window pops out and remind you to buy genuine ink, click "already purchased".

By then, your printer is ready to print. Sometimes, the initialization can take up to 15-30 minutes depending on your printer model.

6. What should I do if Low On Ink messages come out even your cartridges are full?

7. What should I do if my printer does not print perfectly?
All the printers need to clean the print heads after being used for a period of time. You need to follow your printer’s user manual and LET The Printer do the “clean heads” itself. You DON’T need to clean them by yourself. After installation of refillable ink cartridges, CISS or compatible ink cartridges, if the printing result is not perfect , the printer needs a "DEEP CLEANING" or "clean heads" . Here is the way to do so:
Please go to your computer's start menu and click:
"START"→ "CONTROL PANEL"→ Double click "PRINTER" Icon → “Printer”menu → “Properties”→ "MAINTENANCE" Tab →"DEEP CLEANING" or "clean heads".

8. Where is the Pre-Filled Ink in Piano Book CISS?

When you receive your pre-filled Piano Book CISS, you may think the ink tanks are not pre-filled. This is because this patent design has two chambers: front and rear ones.
The rear one holds the majority of the ink; and the front one shows only small amount of the ink. When you lean your ink tank forward at about 30 degree, you will find more ink going to the front chamber.
This special design can save space and void light directly on the ink.

9. How to position the CISS ink tanks?
Your CISS ink tanks should always at the same level as the ink cartridges. If your ink tanks are higher than the cartridges, it will cause over flooded ink into the printer. If your ink tanks are lower than the cartridges, it will stop continuously supply ink to the cartridges. If your ink tubing is constantly full of air, please check whether your ink tank is lower than the cartridges' level; and the acutal ink level in the ink tank. It might be the time to refill the ink tank.
